Crossing Life Church in Carmel is a Christian church dedicated to loving God and loving people.

Celebrate: To gather as a family and meet with our Father. To rejoice in His Presence and give thanks for all that He has done. To worship, exalt and magnify Him as Lord in our lives and in the region. To give Him preeminence in our lives and in our local expression. (Acts 2:42-47, Hebrews 10:24-25, Ephesians 5:19, Colossians 3:16, 1 Cor. 14:26, 1 Peter 2:9)

Edify: To encourage one another. To function in the gifts for the edification and building up of the corporate Body. To exhort, encourage and challenge. (1 Cor. 12-14, 1 Thess. 5:11, Hebrews 10:24, Hebrews 3:13, Gal 6, Romans 12:4-5)

Equip: To teach, preach, exhort all in regard to big picture vision for the season, big picture for our community, big picture for our role as a local church in the state of Maine. Apostolic teaching to further establish, challenge and to call the corporate Body to a higher place. (Acts 2:42 and 13:1-52, Ephesians 4, 1 Timothy 3:2 and 4:16, 2 Tim 2:15 and 3:16-17 and 4:2-3, Titus 2:1-15, 1 Thessalonians 2:4)

Activate: To lay hands and impart, activate ( through prayer). To release people into their roles and functions. To position people for the work of service. To “send out” to reach the world around us (neighbors, co- workers, family, etc). To acknowledge calling, gifting and ministry within the Body and build up, encourage and equip unto full maturity. (Romans 10:14-15, Ephesians 4, 1 Timothy 4:14, 2 Timothy 1:6, Acts 6:6 and 8: 14-17 and 9:17 and 13:3 and 19:6)

Family of families: Deep love for one another. Submitting ourselves one to another in the love of God. Involvement of all present according to the gift and grace on each. Building relationship in and outside of our Sunday gathering. Each family functioning according to household order and reflected in our gatherings of any kind. Showing hospitality to outsiders. (Colossians 2:2, Romans 12:4-5, Galatians 6:10, 1 Peter 4:9, 1 John 1:3, 1 John 3:14)

Order: Proper authority in the corporate Family. Honor where honor is due. Regularity with spiritual gifts functioning. Leaders leading according to grace and gifting, recognizing each others gift and call and esteeming, honoring, and encouraging one another that the Family would follow example. (1 Cor. 14:33, Romans 12:10, Ephesians 4, 1 and 2 Timothy, Titus)

Unity: One heart, one mind, one purpose, one vision. Unity (not conformity) being a collective body of people, expressing diversity in gifts and function, all working together toward one purpose, with one corporate vision- each also having unique life call and vision that will not be separate from, but rather, together with the Body. Not just local but regional and global also. (Psalm 133, Ephesians 4:1-4, Romans 16:17, 1 Cor. 10:17)

Presence: Cultivating an atmosphere of His Presence where there is fullness of JOY, anticipation, expectation for when we gather. Giving first place to Holy Spirit to lead and direct. Allowing for movement of the Spirit in any form or function as the Spirit sees fit. (Exodus 33:14, Psalm 16:11 and 27:1-10, John 14:26, Acts 3:20-21, 1 Cor. 5:4, 1 John 2:27)

Prayer: “My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations.” (Isaiah 56:7/Matthew 21:13)
A praying community, individually and collectively. Intercession on behalf of the town, region, state, nation and nations. Faith-filled praying that shifts a spiritual reality over any given person(s), situation or location. Seeking God first in all ministry and activity in the place of prayer, both as a leadership team and as a community of believers. (Psalm 141: 2, Matthew 6, Mark 11:24, Romans 12:12, Ephesians 1:18 and 6:18, James 5:13-16, 1 John 5:14)
